Suburban Hills School's kindergarten program is recognized by the state of New Jersey and our teachers are state certified. Our basic philosophy of an open learning environment underlines the kindergarten program and provides a highly flexible and child centered learning situation. In small groups, the children are free to explore, examine and experience at their own rate of interest and growth, all under the guidance of concerned, skilled and involved teachers.

       During the first few months of the school year the children are tested for reading and math readiness skills as well as general knowledge. The test results identify the child's strengths and weaknesses and enable the teachers to give the children individualized attention and encouragement as needed. Year-end testing is also administered and forwarded to your childs receiving school district.

       Areas of learning include: reading, math, science, creative expression, free play, language development, music, social studies, writing skills, art, cooking and computers.
